Focus Stacking Fundamentals

The session will cover how in-camera focus stacking works, when to use it, and how it differs from focus bracketing for more advanced, high-end stacked images. Stewart will explain the key settings, common mistakes, subject choice, lighting considerations, and practical techniques needed to create sharper, more detailed macro photographs.

I’m Changing My Photography Channel…

Big channel update! Macro photography is not going anywhere, but I’m now bringing more wildlife photography into the channel as well.

ABOUT

Welcome to my little world.

My journey into macro began in 2016 when I photographed a Zebra jumping spider in my back garden, and I was hooked. Since then, I've spent thousands of hours revealing what most of us walk right past: the iridescent eyes of a spider, the structure of an insect's wing, the hidden geometry of a single droplet.

In late 2024, I expanded into wildlife photography, a new chapter that lives alongside the macro work that shaped me.
