Flash Macro Ghosting Explained.

In this video, I explain the ghosting effect that can appear in flash macro photography when shooting in bright sunlight. I’ll show you what causes it, how to spot it in your images, and the simple camera setting changes you can make to remove too much ambient light and keep your subjects looking crisp and sharp.

ABOUT

Welcome to my little world.

My journey into macro began in 2016 when I photographed a Zebra jumping spider in my back garden, and I was hooked. Since then, I've spent thousands of hours revealing what most of us walk right past: the iridescent eyes of a spider, the structure of an insect's wing, the hidden geometry of a single droplet.

In late 2024, I expanded into wildlife photography, a new chapter that lives alongside the macro work that shaped me.
