Stewart really knows his stuff and quickly helped me better understand the camera settings and menu choices that make shooting tiny macro images much easier, especially with moving subjects! Lots of initial discussion to understand my needs and skill level, followed by several practical sessions with still life and moving subjects. The spiders were really cool and I came away with some keeper shots and more importantly a better understanding of macro photography. Thanks Stewart!

Stewart was friendly and welcoming, and was clearly very knowledgeable in the field of macro photography. We started with a chat, to establish our knowledge and experience, before starting to photograph the spiders. Stuart progressed us from photographing a calmer adult spider to capturing the more lively younger ones. We took photos in a variety of different set-ups, which resulted in some beautiful images, but also helped us to learn the techniques to get these shots.
As a bonus, we spent the last part of the workshop photographing some water droplets, which taught us some additional skills that we could use in a variety of different situations, both in the field and in the studio. Although the advertised duration of the workshop was 6 hours, Stewart was very happy to continue for as long as we wanted to stay.
Overall, we had a fantastic day, in which we obtained many wonderful images and learned new skills. I would highly recommend this workshop and consider it to be very good value.
